New Members Welcomed

God and the power of His Holy Spirit is truly amazing!
On October 10, 2009, He revealed Himself through His power to change lives and convict hearts to surrender to His loving care.

Gail Plewkowski became acquainted with the Seventh-day Adventist message from a friendship through a working relationship with Mark Atwood, chaplain of hospice in Macon, GA.  Her interest continued to grow through a friendship with Charles Sanborn whom she hired as an LPN when facing  personal health challenges.  She claims that she owes her life to his care during her struggles with a complicated wound healing process.  During this friendship, Gail began to attend Charles' church, the Wimbish Road Seventh-day Adventist Church and became acquainted with Marvin & Sharon Taylor, long time friends of Charles.

As relationships evolved, Gail requested Bible studies to learn more about the life saving Seventh-day Adventist message.  About a year later on October 10, 2009, Gail requested baptism and became part of the Wimbish Road Church family.

PRAISE THE LORD!  May God continue to bless her as she continues to study and grow in faith.

Another dear child of God, Toni Rogers requested membership into our church family through profession of faith. Toni has been a long standing Seventh-day Adventist over the years, but through numerous relocations, her membership had been lost.  Toni remained faithful to the Lord and witnessed to her husband Jim, who was baptized a month ago.  We rejoice with Jim and Toni as they continue to serve and grow through the nurturing of the Wimbish Rd church family.

God through the power of His Holy Spirit is moving among his people here in Macon through personal friendship, outreach ministries, and revelation of Bible truths through personal study.
                                                                    Submitted by Sharon Taylor

Sabbath, September 19, was a very special day for God and His people at Wimbish Road Seventh-day Adventist church as they welcomed God’s chosen people.

85 year old Claude Sellers was re-baptized after not attending for 41 years.  Pastor Witt met Mr. Sellers when he conducted Claude’s brother-in-laws funeral.  About six weeks ago, Mr. Sellers wife passed away and he has been in church every Sabbath since.  The former Head Elder, Norman Wilson, assisted with this baptism.  He and Claude have been friends for many years. Claude is now thrilled to be back in God's commandment keeping church family.
Jim Rogers is an active member of a Daniel Sabbath School Class.  He has attended the SDA church for 17 years on and off.  But this is the first time he has studied formally the Biblical basis for the fundamental teaching of the SDA church. Jim is an executive with an aeronautical contractor associated with Warner Robins Air Force Base, and a wrestling coach with a local high school.  Curt woods, the teacher of the Daniel class and the Head Elder of our Wimbish Road SDA Church was invited to assist with Jim’s baptism.

A young couple who love the Lord and daily seek Him, Warren & Jessica Massengale, came in by Profession of Faith. Warren just finished an on line degree preparing him to be a Baptist minister, but said he could not accept a position to preach and teach things he did not believe.  He showed up at our church 6 weeks ago, with his 2 & 4 year old boys.  Jessica, a cardiac nurse, had work all night the night before, so remained home.  Warren and Jessica studied on their won to find the Bible truth about the State of the Dead, Hell, Healthful Living, Clean & Unclean, Spiritual Israel, and even the Spirit of Prophecy. Warren said, "You don’t have to tell me about Ellen White, I ordered a set of books authored by her, called the Conflict of the Ages series.  I've read them through up to the middle of Acts of the Apostles, but still have a book called The Great Controversy yet to go. However, I believe in the ministry of Ellen White.  She clearly teaches and upholds the scripture.”  Warren and Jessica attend the Daniel class and made their official decision to join the Seventh-day Adventist 2 weeks ago.
